I’d say this is one of, if not the best Genesis games ever simply because it stands the test of time so well. Other games I grew up with (Altered Beast, Contra Hard Corps, Sonic 1) haven’t aged as well either due to them being shallow (Altered Beast), a bit unpolished (Sonic 1), or just excrutiatingly tough (Contra).
